Julio Anaya Cabanding

Born in Malaga, Spain, 1987. Currently living and working in Spain.

Julio Anaya Cabanding is a graduate of Fine Arts from the Univeristy of Malaga, 2018. His art reinterprets the works of the great classical masters by painting on discarded and deteriorated cardboard, collected from abandoned places and rehabilitated in his studio in order to give them a new identity in a different context. The contrast of this results in the decontextualization of those rigid structures established within the art world. In successfully painting Great works on discarded cardboard, Julio calls into question what it is that we truly value in art.

1987年出生於西班牙馬拉加。目前在西班牙生活和工作。

Julio Anaya Cabanding 於2018年畢業於馬拉加大學美術系。他的創作開始於廢墟，在城市各個被遺忘的角落以塗鴉的方式「掛上」不同的經典畫作。期後，他到贏收集廢棄的紙板，並在他的工作室重新修復後轉變為一張張畫布，在這些被遺忘之物上重新詮釋了古典大師們的偉大作品，給予這些「垃圾」一個不同背景下的新身份。這種對比把藝術世界中長久以來建立的僵化結構給去語境化。藝術家在廢棄的紙板上成功地畫出了偉大的作品，以此質疑我們在藝術中真正重視的是甚麼。
